About Pete the Poet
Much of Pete the Poet’s work involves helping individuals learn, grow and develop. With multiple areas of expertise, Pete provides a unique and comprehensive perspective that is highly valuable in different contexts. His diverse set of skills and knowledge work together to inform and enhance each other, and this interdisciplinary approach is applied to a variety of projects in innovative ways.
As a performance poet Pete captures the attention of audiences, inspiring them to resonate with the message being conveyed. Pete writes and recites original poetry that is both heartfelt and entertaining, performed with an expressive and engaging delivery. He provides fresh perspectives and helps to expand the horizons of the audience, whether for learning, enjoyment, or both! In his interactive poetry work Pete helps people tap into their creativity, and participants can develop their own communication skills and learn new ways to express themselves, enhancing projects and events in an engaging way.
He has been nominated by Somerset National Education Union for the prestigious Blair Peach Award for his work in promoting the values of race equality in schools and colleges. With over forty years of classroom experience and the head of three schools, and with an extensive array of assignments from consultancy to compèring, organising fundraisers to publishing academic papers, Pete brings an impressive range of skills to his workshops and events for people of all ages.

His passionate contributions to human rights can be seen in much of his work in schools, colleges and in the wider community. He encourages KS3 & KS4 students to understand the negative impact of racism and shows them ways to become active citizens in supporting both individuals and communities. All done through the power of creativity.
Wedding poet
Pete offers a unique, bespoke service for your wedding. He will write and perform an enchanting poem about the happy couple. Adding to the magic of the occasion, Pete offers his skills at the reception to write personal, illustrated poems for your guests.

Over forty years of classroom experience and the head of three schools Pete brings a range of impressive skills to his workshops. His creative arts training sessions have been described as “highly practical, enlightening and inspirational”.
