Vincent was an amazing artist who was a brilliant and troubled man. He painted in different styles throughout his short life but a famous technique he used was to paint landscapes using small stokes of colour – lots of them all crowded together in vertical, diagonal and horizontal strips.

Have a go. Here is one of mine painted in his style.

Feel free to use vibrant colour combinations – make skies red and orange and fields yellow and purple if you wish.

Use the tip of a small brush for as much of this picture as you can then move to larger one if you get tired!

Your paper or canvas should ideally be about A4 size.
