Use water colour paper and coat it with a thin layer of water.
Using the side of a thick brush paint horizontal stripes from one side of the paper to the other to create an expressive style.
Overlap the stripes slightly.

Work to the bottom of the paper so the sky melts into water.
Wait a few moments (it doesn’t matter if the sky is still wet).
Using greens and browns paint reeds with the tip of the brush from the bottom of the paper to the top.

Twist and cross over the reeds.
View the sky through the reeds.
